Episode 52 - Reflection in the Mountains Visual Benedictions

It is springtime, and the Rockies. After the wintry April of South Dakota, it was a spring retreat for me to fly to the mountains of Colorado. It is always a joy to go see family in Colorado and celebrate special family events. Going to the mountains provides special moments for reflection and meditation. It was many years ago that I reflected on Psalm, 121, a favorite psalm for many and at that time, I penned these lines, which I will share with you.

On to the hills I lift my eyes

from whence I seek our aid.

My help does come from Him alone,

whose power shall never fade.

The Lord shall never forget your needs,

nor let your foot be moved

And He that keepeth Israel

shall yet provide you food.

The Lord shall e’er your keeper be

your shade on your right hand.

The Sun and Moon shall not use smite,

for he does care for man

from evil he shall you preserve

your soul sustain shall be.

He will watch over you, with loving eye,

until eternity.

Let's remember May 4th, The National Day of Prayer. Since 1988, the first Thursday in May has been an annual observation, a day, “the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation.” The National Day of Prayer actually traces back to 1775 when the Continental Congress calls for a day of prayer. This year, organizers are planning hundreds of events to take place nationwide on May 4, the 1995 National Day of Prayer.

Warm thought: for low the winter is past. The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of singing has come. Song of Solomon. Remember, the National Day of Prayer.
