At this time during the Christmas season, we feel pressured and overwhelmed when we look at the calendars, which remind us that soon it will be Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Perhaps we have procrastinated in getting shopping done and getting something for the special people in our lives. Many people again will receive costly gifts in beautiful wrappings, toys that will fall apart, flowers that will fade, and many other gifts. As I thought about this, I came up with twelve gifts for the twelve Days of Christmas, that will not wear out and can be given all year long.
One can live in the spirit of Christmas all year, the Christmas season is the season of cheer. The first gift is the gift of cheerfulness,
the gift of encouragement,
the gift of forgiveness,
the gift of gratitude,
the gift of hospitality,
the gift of joy,
the gift of kindness,
the gift of love,
the gift of prayer,
the gift of support,
the gift of time,
and the gift of values.
These kinds of gifts, come from the heart. One can spread the spirit of Christmas with these gifts, every day. A kind word, a caring moment can make this world a kinder and more peaceful and gentler place. It can make someone's day and these gifts will always last and can be given all year long. May your Christmas overflow with the Christmas spirit.
Warm thoughts: Christmas is an attitude of gratitude that flows out from us to others and back again. This Christmas as so many families find themselves in turmoil, remember to embrace the Christ Child. The real reason for coming to earth to make us all one and Gods family through forgiveness. May the greatest gift you will give this Christmas be forgiveness. Jay Rhodes. Catch the Christmas spirit!
