It is very interesting to know that in a recent survey that was taken, 75% of the people believe that a positive mental attitude can snap one out of depression. Throughout the ages, great men have shared with us some very good words of wisdom and positive thoughts. And so this week, I have selected some of those thoughts for this column.
"If I tell you the truth, you don't have to remember anything." Mark Twain. "The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve." Dr. Albert Schweitzer, African missionary. "To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe. Anatole France. "The beauty of memory is that it still sees beauty when beauty has faded." Paul Boese. "The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time." Abraham Lincoln. "That's the beauty of making a mistake. Because you don't have to make it a second time." Thomas Edison. "The Art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook." William James. "To err is human to forgive, divine." Alexander Pope. "To profit from good advice requires more wisdom than to give it." John Churton Collins. "I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there'll be any kindness I can show or any good thing I can do to my fellow beings, let me do it now and defer it as I shall not pass this way again." William Penn.
If you had been questioned in the survey, what would have been your thoughts? I would love to hear from you. Warm thought: In the same way as you cultivate a garden you can cultivate a positive attitude. May you have many warm and positive thoughts!
